When we’re not teaching classes, we spend a lot of time on community outreach, going out and making presentations to raise people’s awareness of who we are, what we offer, and how we can help prepare people for a career in the telecommunications industry. We’ve done presentations to veteran’s groups, we’ve gone to prison facilities, and we’ve traveled outside of Arizona to speak with individuals and show them what opportunities we can offer. We offer more than education; TelTech College is making a difference in people’s lives.
A few weeks ago, we posted a blog about a success story about one of our graduates. When we hear stories like that, and we’ve heard quite a few, it helps to remind us about our mission, and humbles us to know we really can impact people’s lives. Education can make a difference. It can open up options for people when it comes to career choices. It allows people to see a path towards a career, not just a job. We stand by our mission statement that states, “We stand for workplace training by providing education that empowers individuals…”.
We were once again honored and humbled by a call we received from a man who we put through school with our TelTech Scholarship Foundation after working with a local prison to help parolees prepare for jobs . He told us he was now working and is extremely excited because for the first time in his life he will be able to afford rent on his own. He just wanted to call to say, “thank you”.
Everybody has a story about why they pursue career education. Our job is to work with each student, focus our education on honesty, integrity and accountability, and help the best get better.
